American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a 5k non-competitive walk that raises funds to help support breast cancer services and programs. At the event thousands of people walk to celebrate breast cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and to bring awareness about the power of early detection. Last year Marion County residents and residents from surrounding areas raised over $149,000 and this year our goal is to raise $155,000!!! Right here in Marion County cancer patients are receiving free wigs, prosthetics (breast), bras, education, rides to treatment and so much. The American Cancer Society has funded 44 Nobel Laureates and this is a tribute to the highest standards the organization has to ensure we are funding the most cutting edge scientists with the most cutting edge ideas!

Registration at the event opens at 7:00am
Walk begins at 8:30am
**Each participant who raises a minimum of $100 will receive an official event t-shirt** There is no cost to participant in the walk, however this is a fundraising event and all donations are welcome.
This event is a 5k non-competitive walk, runners are welcome, please no pets, skateboards, bikes, etc. Wheelchairs are not provided at the park so please ensure you bring any necessary items with you. Remember to wear sunscreen, hats, etc. and drink plenty of water.
